The responsibilities will include testing software, responding to issues, fine-tuning, monitoring, and maintaining the solutions. This is not a core development role but will involve digging into the system level functionality, scripting, reading code and working with developers on new features and debugging solutions. The right person will proactively address issues and report detailed findings to engineering. The Cloud-based solution involves nearly 30 servers, 8-9 web applications with many parts, 2 core databases and an extremely large data set of web content. With a significant portion of clients on the East coast, this person will need to be available to start earlier in the morning (6am or potentially earlier) Monday through Friday. Requirements: Ideal candidate will come from a commercial software company and have applications, database and server system configuration, troubleshooting and problem resolution expertise. Read code and SQL database schemas (MySQL) as well as write reasonably complex SQL queries to build reports Experience logging into and navigating a Linux platform which includes writing simple Shell scripts and testing on the platform Software testing including performance and load balance Monitor and maintain production and QA systems Know how to use web browsers properly and setup a website from scratch Familiarity with Internet-based technology - HTML, PHP, Java, and/or related technologies Interest in Big Data, Cloud, SaaS, and similar technologies Experience with configuration and release management helpful
